The details

The Andrew Fairlie Scholarship is the ultimate opportunity for aspiring chefs in Scotland to gain knowledge and experience in renowned establishments. Sponsored by HIT Scotland and The Gleneagles Hotel, and supported by Restaurant Andrew Fairlie and Perth College UHI, this scholarship was launched in 2019 in partnership with HIT Scotland (Hospitality Industry Trust), an industry charity closely associated with the late Andrew Fairlie. Applications for 2023 are now open, and the judges will be looking for chefs with similar values, professionalism, integrity, and creativity. Aspiring chefs will have to cook a dish on Finals day to showcase their knowledge and skills.

I was in the unique and priveleged position to work with Andrew for 26 years - which has sculpted me both professionally and personally - and it's with honour and pride that I continue to fly the flag for Andrew through my involvement with this scholarship. Succesful Andrew Fairlie scholars should be capable chefs, but, equally importantly, we are looking for 'Andrew Fairlie People' to join the family, as individuals who can demonstrate professionalism, commitment, compassion and kindness - all that Andrew had in droves. We are passionate about encouraging and supporting the next generation of culinary talent in Scotland - this way, as members of the Andrew Fairlie Family, we can continue his legacu in a manner that suitably represents the man himself.
